The village of Platanias offers a variety of dining, cocktail, and shopping options, all within walking distance of the hotel. To the south of the village, guests can explore orange and olive groves by hiking or cycling. Take the public bus to Chania. It's a lovely town of approximately 90,000 inhabitants with small but wonderful museums. Most importantly, it has an old town that is a protected medieval monument city bearing signs of Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman influences.

The complex is inspired by traditional Cretan architecture while incorporating elements from modern design. The complex disposes three buildings and thus gives the feeling of independence to its guests; the maisonnettes feel like bungalows or two-story apartments which have all independent entrance, balcony, yard and the like. Local stones, wood and tiles prevail giving the hotel a warm style that recalls peasant village homes. The mature garden along with the proximity to the sea make the hotel an ideal place to experience the Greek summer and outdoor living. Frog Island Snack Bar cook can introduce guests to the culinary delights of Greek cuisine, simple and hearty.
